We’re looking for a Design Assistant who will support the HOD on Home with the development of new and innovative home products in line with our competitors. You will be assisting in the delivery of key trends, colour and product direction to the business .
You will support the product selection process to contribute towards exciting and commercial product ranges, delivering optimal brand and customer performance whilst demonstrating full understanding of our customers’ needs in regard to fashion for the Home.
What will you do as a Design Assistant at N Brown?
- Supporting in delivering key trends, colour and product direction by providing co- ordination and administration of design materials, imagery, samples and tracking of activity
- Helping to ensure we have the right level of newness achieved to create exciting ranges displaying innovation in terms of product opportunity to identify new and emerging trends.
- Supporting with briefs , recolours and move ons for existing designs.
- Home design running support , product returns, pantone colour matching , support on design brief and product set up and other admin tasks that support the smooth running of the home design department .
- Supporting in the modernisation and design of key product ranges in line with competitors and future trends
- Preparation, analysis and presentation of research on specific products; providing competitor assessments and shopping reports
- Creation of and system management of design information.
- Attending, and contributing, to the regular departmental creative meetings, suggesting ideas for future trends and providing updates on work activities
- Strong understanding of the Brand and customer.
What skills and experience will you have?
- Excellent home product knowledge
- An innovative, flexible, creative and forward-thinking approach to work
- Excellent time management and an organised and planned approach to your work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Proven design systems, CAD, Adobe and Illustrator knowledge

Ways of Working
We offer hybrid working which varies across the business depending on the role you’re in.. Our Head Office is located in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre. So if you are travelling by train, tram or bus we’re perfectly located, plus we’re surrounded by cool cafes, trendy bars and the best places to eat!
Our full-time working hours are 36.17 per week over 5-days. We don’t have strict working hours therefore there is some flexibility around start and finish times as long as you are meeting the needs of the business.
