We’re looking for a Freight Coordinator to join our Logistics team! In this role you will assist in the day to day management of the business’ supply chain, ensuring that it operates as efficiently as possible. You will liaise with key stakeholders internally as well as being a key contact for our freight partners and suppliers.

Location: This role will be based on site at our Warehouse in Shaw (Oldham) with the occasional requirement to work from our Head Office in Manchester city centre, with flexibility as and when required.

What will you do as a Freight Coordinator at N Brown?

  • You’ll monitor and measure sea, air and road freight processes via internal and external systems, to identify cost saving opportunities, supplying appropriate reporting to the relevant stakeholder.
  • Freight Forwarder PO management systems – exceptions and approvals, generate MI reports, record, and monitor rejections.
  • You’ll manage queries from freight partners around load planning and prioritisation of cargo by origin stations.
  • You’ll review shipment load plans submitted by origin stations to ensure that cargo and equipment is being planned efficiently and cost effectively.
  • You’ll ensure that decision making is driven by the needs of the business.
  • You’ll work with the Imports Team to generate and support the implementation of accurate, compliant, and effective systems for the end-to-end imports processes.
  • You’ll make and manage system and warehouse bookings for imported freight.
  • You’ll support the delivery training requirements to the Buying and Merchandising function. This is to provide sufficient skills and clear knowledge to understand landed costs, lead times and effects of their decisions on other supply chain activities.
  • You’ll own the freight booking exception approval process which includes:
  • Handling any queries that may arise from either origin or internal stakeholders resulting from rejected bookings.
  • Monitoring internal stakeholder engagement to ensure that the process is being used correctly and that Merchandising is reviewing the information provided to them to prevent supplier over/under booking.
  • Query management – You’ll handle supplier, forwarder, and product team queries with timely responses, whilst monitoring for efficiency, quality, and compliance
